Excerpt:

A black net shirt molded to his upper body like a glove to a hand. It outlined the movement of muscle as Grif's hand lowered to the front of his pants, brushing away an imaginary piece of dust. Smirking faintly, he took in the sight of the young man kneeling not too far away from him. The slave had the classic, delicate features Grif tended to favor. The slave's chocolate brown eyes were downcast as he waited silently for his new Master's orders.

Glancing at the vampire Master standing next to him, Grif said, "You won this time, Dominic."

Dominic turned his head slightly towards him, a spark of amusement in the azure depths of his eyes. Looking back to the young man kneeling before them, Dom leaned to the side to whisper in Grif's ear. "Perhaps next time, my friend." He moved slowly to the kneeling man and slipped a hand under his chin, lifting the slave's head slowly. "And such a pretty prize you lost, Griffith."

Grif shrugged and a slow sweep of his gaze wandered over the other vampire Master. Dominic held even more appeal than the slave, though Grif refused to admit that. Dominic possessed a piercing gaze that could look straight into a person's soul, and Grif had felt that effect more than once himself. "There will always be a next time. And I quite agree; he is a very pretty toy."

"And what shall I do with my newly-won toy?" It was unclear as to where the question was directed, and Dominic turned to flash a wicked grin at Grif, revealing the slightest hint of pointed teeth. A hungry gaze swept over Grif, as if Dominic favored toying with him over the young mortal for which they had been competing.

A brow crept upward and Grif's eyes narrowed slightly as he kept a steady gaze on Dominic. Folding his arms against his chest, he leaned back against the wall behind him. "Is that an offer to share?"

Dominic looked back down at the young mortal. "Perhaps." As he bent over to brush his lips across the mortal's, the leather of his pants tightened over his ass, reflecting the light from a nearby lamp.

Grif couldn't help but notice. For a brief moment, a darker gleam of his own interest flared within him, and he figured the action had been deliberate. A tightening to the front of his pants betrayed the slow stirring of his own body. "When you make up your mind, do let me know, Dominic."

Dominic straightened and turned slowly. His gaze drifted down Grif's body before sliding back up to his eyes. "Impatience, Grif?" he teased quietly. "Hardly like you." His blue eyes darkened and he smiled. "Or are you jealous?"

A careful calm descended over Grif as he remained utterly still, feeling the drift of Dominic's gaze like a touch. Smiling faintly, he appeared to be totally relaxed against the wall. Even though the sub was the type that generally interested him, he hadn't really looked closely at the young mortal still kneeling near Dominic. "I'm never impatient and you know that. Why would you think I'm jealous?"

Dominic left the mortal and slowly approached him. He placed his palms flat against the wall, on either side of Grif's head, and flicked his tongue quickly across Grif's lips. An almost imperceptible growl vibrated from Grif's throat with Dominic's close proximity. Before Dominic could withdraw his tongue, Grif bit at it. The other vampire pulled away then, but not before a darker desire reflected in his eyes.

"Please, my friend," Dominic said as he returned to the mortal. "Join me. Between the two of us, I'm sure we can find some use for this delectable young man before us."

Lately, Dominic had taken to playing with Grif in an intense game, and it started to draw Grif in. However, he still tried to maintain that carefully unaffected facade. Pushing from the wall, he advanced on Dominic. Once he was close enough, he lifted his hand and cupped it against the outline of Dominic's cock as he leaned in to whisper in his ear. "We'll let your little plaything take care of your problem. I get his mouth."

Dominic slid his tongue over his lips, smearing a small trace of blood across them. Unable to resist the urge to taste at that blood, Grif's tongue darted over Dominic's lips, cleaning them. A brief flicker of hunger flashed across Dominic's face, yet it was not directed at the mortal in question.

"Very well," Dominic said quietly. He reached down and grasped Grif's wrist. "But do not start something you don't intend to finish." One eye fluttered closed in the quickest of winks before he turned his attentions to the young mortal. "On your hands and knees, young man," he ordered. "Let us see what the rest of that beautiful body looks like."

Chuckling, Grif countered, "Don't start something you can't win, my friend." His attention returned to the sub, watching silently.

Flashing Grif a dark look, Dominic seemed to choose to ignore that last remark. Returning his attentions to the slave, he stroked his fingertips down the young mortal's spine, drawing a shudder and a catch of breath from the man. As he neared his ass, Dominic drew his hand away. A split second later, the sound of a sharp smack broke the silence, followed by a stifled whimper from the mortal.

"Such a beautiful ass you have," Dominic mused quietly.

The sub nodded and his voice shook as he respectfully answered, "Yes, Master."

As Grif moved slightly closer, he left Dominic enough room to play. The mild expression on Grif's face had a faintly amused edge, though he knew the noticeable scent of his arousal was discernible to the other vampire Master. He couldn't hide that, even though he portrayed himself as unaffected by what he was seeing.

Dominic leaned over and slid his fingers through the mortal's hair, gently pulling his head up and back. Kneeling behind him, he lowered his head to lick a slow path over the side of the sub's throat. He looked up and opened his mouth to nick the mortal's flesh with his fangs.

Grif recognized the message Dominic sent him. As his own fangs dropped, they became visible in the curve of his smile. The flare of his nostrils took in the rich scent of blood and Dominic himself. From the look Dominic pinned on him, Grif knew he was being toyed with.

"Do come play," Dominic whispered before licking the sub's neck to close the wound. He straightened himself back up and released the mortal's hair to slide his hand down his spine. Then Dominic opened his pants and shoved them to the floor. Eight inches of hard flesh sprang forward and he rubbed his length over the crack of the sub's ass.

A dark, heated gaze sharpened and focused on Dominic. Staring at Dominic's cock, Grif walked towards the sub's head, kneeling as he unfastened his own pants. This isn't the first time you've played this game with me. Why do I feel like it won't be the last

Muslims, Christians, Jewish, oh my

I found a very interesting essay written by Dr. Zahid Aziz. It all started in a conversation with my SO. Muslims, Christians, Jewish, Israel. That sort of thing. Just a normal everyday conversation. Heh. So I had to do web surfing and hit Wikipedia with the Ottoman Empire, Persian Empire, strayed into the Inquistion, and all points East and West.

Anyhooo…in my net travels I came across this essay by Dr. Aziz. The first thing that struck me was ‘Wow, Christian believers in the end times aren’t the only ones who scour their book and look for the corresponding signs in the world today'. I’m guilty of thinking only the Revelations and end time believers did that. Going deeper, the essay gave me a better understanding of how Christian belief is viewed by Muslims. I never really thought about it before.

Just a quote from Dr. Aziz: “It is the Christians whom took the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, from his rightful position as a Messenger and a Prophet, and raised his dignity to that of a (literal) son of God and/or God incarnate and today we have more than 2 billion Christians who perpetuate such a belief!”

I can see it from the viewpoint of the good Doctor. It’s pretty much the same with Christians. Especially the minute they find out the Mormon church elevated Joseph Smith to a level position with Christ. IT UPSETS PEOPLE. In that context, I can very much understand Dr. Aziz’s viewpoint. They don’t see Christ as anything more than a prophet.

Yes, I believe in Christ, but I can certainly understand why my belief would horrify the doctor. It’s my eternal curse in life to see both sides. I would never condemn Dr. Aziz for his belief or in any way advocate harming or silencing his belief. No, I simply wish to understand them.

In reading his article, I did gain a sense of how Muslims could see Christianity and the West. He had some points I very much agree with. Though I would try to tell him, that not all Christians irrational ‘I’m right, you’re wrong’ characters.

Out of it all, it just struck me in the end--Jewish, Muslim and Christian all believe in the same God. It should be a uniting factor, but it’s not. And I find it very sad. Some people do speak tolerance and understand, but the louder voices seem to be condemnation and intolerance.

Why can’t so many tolerate that two don’t believe in Christ, one believes Mohammed is a prophet, one believes Christ is the son of God. I can understand why each would believe as they do. And they are like me because they believe in God. Which is the main, stable factor in it all. Everything else is no more than personal beliefs.

Hey, if you don’t believe in God, that’s fine. Beliefs are each individual’s reflection on the world and life. I think that’s something very few understand. Beliefs to some are a set series within a book that they are suppose to live by. In part that is true, but beliefs are also a reflection of the deep inner thoughts of person as they struggle through life, forming their own beliefs within the framework of those set series in a book. If your beliefs are nothing more than a parrot of those set beliefs in a book, you’ve entirely missed the point of living, and of being human being. Too many have fallen into a trap of thinking that their set series of beliefs are the only one everybody must live by.

Going back to Dr. Aziz, I’m not going to make the mistake of believing that militant Muslim terrorists are any representative of the Muslim faith itself, just as I know the Inquisition is NOT a representation of Christian faith. I found both his essay and the link below to help further my understand of the Muslim world. If you are interested in more information on the Muslim belief, I found this addy to be very helpful. I encourage everyone to learn more and do their own research.

I think one of the largest things I’ve learned is nobody has the right to say anybody is going to hell for whatever they might or might not believe. To tell a Jewish or Muslim they are going to hell because they don’t believe in Christ is WRONG. In the end, it’s not your fucking business. Certain parts of your belief are not their belief. And they have their own valid reasons. I seriously suggest you leave that to God because they believe in him as well.

Got the author's copy of The Power of Two today. Damn, it looks sooooo beautiful. My first official novella. Hard to describe how exciting it is. I really need to thank Kat, our Phaze editor. She really has done a wonderful job in trying to get Power out as quickly as she could. When I'm rich, I'll throw her a wild party.

Seeing as I haven't posted personal opinion in awhile, it's about time I do.

All right, class, today’s lesson is about prejudice. Why you ask? Well, my infamous internet wandering naturally.

I’ve seen lots of words bandied about on the subject. Most of them very annoying. During all of this, a startling revelation occurred to me. Something as yet no one else seems to have caught onto. Especially those so busily tossing words around about it.

Everybody is prejudice. Everybody dislikes something. Even me. I can’t stand ‘conservative moral majority’ folks. They drive me up a wall. It seems in this ‘politically correct’ atmosphere it is perfectly all right to do so. But is it? No, not really. I still particularly dislike a certain group of people based on their beliefs. The thing is, I recognize that about my own prejudice.

I don’t think the question really should be is a person prejudice. Because we all are. About something. The question should be, what do we do with our dislike? Do we cross the street and avoid coming across our particular dislike? Well, in my case, yes. If I see a cardboard carrying religious moral majority type anywhere near me, you’re damn right, I’m gonna turn around and get back in my car and come back another day when I’m not as likely to be fucking annoyed.

Do I advocate blowing up, killing, or other maiming anybody who happens to be a member of what I dislike. Uh…no, and if you do, you’re a serious problem.

Whether it’s color, religion or sexual preference that is hated, you can talk until you’re blue in the face and you’re never going to convince another to give up their prejudice. The stance you take with your own prejudice and others’ prejudices is what everybody should be looking at.

Do I advocate ignoring prejudice? Yes and no. If I’m a witness to a racial, religious, or sexual preference slur, I’m going to step up to the bat. If I know somebody is prejudice and their way of dealing with is to avoid what they don’t like, I’m not going to say anything.

If you join the Aryan Brotherhood then I’ll believe there is very serious cause for concern. No, I’m not going to argue with the superiority of whites over blacks, or Jews, or Asians, or Protestants or what the hell ever. White power went out with the dinosaurs. Let’s get into the new millennium, shall we?

But yelling (insert typing in capslock) at someone who believes that kind of bullshit never gets anybody anywhere except more annoyed at the stupidity. If it’s a dangerous prejudice that advocates killing or harming that which is hated, the law needs to deal with. And people need to make sure the law does.

And while you're doing all the yelling, check out yourself for any potential prejudice. It's really helpful.

Now to those who cross the street to avoid that which they dislike because of color, I have a story. After a day of shopping at the mall, I was just leaving and had stopped outside the doors to light a cigarette. A person, not of the color I am, and not of the same gender as I, asked to borrow my lighter. After a moment or two of conversation, this person told me they thought I looked damn hot. Now at my age, anybody who says that needs glasses and has earned my undying gratitude for being sweet enough to say it to me. For the rest of the day it made me smile when I thought about it.

Lesson here, maybe avoiding that which is disliked loses you a reason to smile for a day. Then again, maybe I should listen to myself and remember that the next time I see a card board carrying religious nut. It’s a thought.
